Piet Niemann here…. The son of a farmer, I grew up appreciating the wide open spaces of the Free State plains. As you might expect, I eventually ended up being a farmer myself, enjoying being in the industry.
After enjoying farming for a good number of years, I decided to settle down on the west coast. Although I do not have the privilege of farming anymore, I still enjoy any contact with the industry at any possible opportunity. Wherever possible, I try to connect with farmers in the region, learning about their farming methods – always fishing for new ideas….
As such, I was taken in by the idea of controlling pests without chemicals – because every unnatural interference in nature has consequences.
I guess I will always be a farmer…
